Part 3: Craft Social Media Posts

Now that you’ve created amazing content, how are you going to get more eyes on it? Think about the target audience you want to reach and select three social platforms your audience would likely visit. If you are having trouble deciding on which channels to select, review Lesson 1: The Social Media Landscape, Section 5: Choose your Social Media Channels. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create accounts on the social media platforms you’ve selected so you are able to post on them.

Craft a post for each of the three social platforms you’ve chosen to share your blog post with your audience. Keep in mind the best practices (tone, character limits, multimedia etc.) for each channel. Where applicable include the hashtag #IminDMND, we'll select the best posts and share them on our social channels.

Optional Extra Credit: While you don’t actually have to share your posts online to pass this project (you will submit it in a template), you are more then welcome to do so. Publish your posts on the platforms you have chosen and submit screenshots for review in the submission template. Where applicable include the hashtag #IminDMND, share them on our social channels, and share your results.

When you include a link to your blog post in your social posts, make sure to publish them with shortened URLs so you can track the number of clicks you’ve received. We suggest you use Bitly's URL Shortener: Bit.ly.
